Servo
Slowdown device using the PICAXE microcontroller...
The following Picaxe R/C project was emailed to me by Kevin Goom and consists of a tiny R/C servo interface that allows the motion of the servo to be slowed down, with the speed being controlled by a small potentiometer. Kevin had designed this circuit and code for a few fellow R/C boaters who wanted to slow down the speed of the rudder servo (sort of scale-like). This small simple circuit is also great for those R/C airplane retracts and bomb-drops, just to name a few other useful ideas.
Design Criteria Summary:
1) Base design around a small 8-pin PIC (Picaxe 08M)
2) Powers off of the receiver power (typically 5 volts)
3) Allows the servo speed to be adjustable (variable potentiometer)
4) See Kevin's PDF file for schematic, PCB ideas
and other pertinent information...
1) One Picaxe 08M Microcontroller
2) One 470 ohm resistor
3) One 10K ohm resistor
4) One 10K potentiometer
5) One .1uF capacitor
6) One LED (any color)
